Starbucks Coffee

October 8th, 2007 · No Comments · Chai, Coffee

Starbucks runs their business well from a monetary standpoint, but how is their coffee?

I heard my uncle refer to Starbucks affectionately as “Charbucks” … this gave me a chuckle for its stunning appropriateness: the nickname “Charbucks” illustrates the most glaring downfall of Starbucks coffee:  It tastes like it’s been roasted in a volcano.

I’m no chemist, but i suspect that the caffeine content of Starbucks is greater than other leading coffee brands. Maybe this is because they squeeze every molecule they can out of their coffee grounds.

But they do a lot of things really well, of course. Great atmosphere (but no free wireless internet) , friendly service, good Chai (their secret recipe is astoundingly good), and good pumpkin spice cake.
