The most defining characteristic of Christopher Bean’s Jamaica Me Crazy is its chocolate flavor. According to the package, Jamaica Me Crazy is also all-natural (I wonder what would make a coffee un-natural?). I usually don’t buy flavored coffee, but cocoa seems like a close relative to coffee, so I made an exception.
I woke up today, started a pot of Jamaica Me Crazy, then went to clean up. Within a few minutes the whole house smelled like chocolate. I thought this was nice, though I imagine a chocolate lover would be especially happy about this aromatic side effect.
Since I added milk and sugar to my Jamaica Me Crazy, I suppose it ended up being “milk chocolate” flavored. The coffee seemed a bit stale straight out of the package, but it ended up being quite pleasant to sip on. Jamaica Me Crazy is not too acidic or harsh on the stomach, which is a big plus with me. The aftertaste could be better. Another observation: I’m on my second cup and I feel strangely euphoric. It’s either the coffee, the chlorinated Phoenix tap water or the everything bagel with cream cheese I ate an hour ago.
I found Christopher Bean coffee for the first time at the local grocer, on sale for $7.99. It was certainly worth a try.
