AM/PM — High Voltage Java

March 15th, 2009 · No Comments · Coffee

I dropped by AM/PM the other day and, on a dare, I tried out their “High Voltage Java.” My desperate state of fatigue probably had something to do with me taking that dare.

It came out of the spout looking like unrefined crude oil, so I opted for filling it the rest of the way with “Regular.” Speaking of crude oil, I wonder if AM/PM has ever considered giving their coffee gasoline-inspired names like or “High Octane Blend” since they are, after all, a gas station too.

I went for the 24 ounce size (the “tanker”), which came out to $1.61 including tax. Can’t complain about the price.

The coffee, to my surprise ended up being quite drinkable. This was, of course after adding about a “barrel” of cream and sugar.

You might ask, did i feel “super-charged?” Answer: I got through the day hating the prospect of being awake significantly less than before.

A question I have for AM/PM is: What makes this coffee “High Voltage?” Do you add a lot of unnatural chemicals? If anyone happens to know about this, please educate me.
