The wife and I stopped by Culinary Solutions Café for breakfast today. This informal little breakfast/lunch café is located in Tempe, Arizona on Rural and Guadalupe, in the Albertson’s shopping center. The surest way to find it is to look for this sign (from Guadalupe):
Culinary Café has been there for five years. According to the waitress I chatted with, most of their business comes from word of mouth referals.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out, in addition to regular coffee they also offer a few specialty espresso drinks:
But I opted for regular old coffee (seemed more appropriate for breakfast). Like many restaurants, Farmers Brothers supplies their coffee — in this case it was Medium Roast.
The coffee was good — it hit the spot for that time of the day and complemented the meal nicely. I would like to sample one of their espresso drinks next time.
I love Culinary Solutions’ vibe. I know that sounds vague, but it’s true nonetheless. Modest, yet tasteful style. Good Service. High quality food. And my wife got a pancake the size of a plate for $2.50 (woot). Also, they are the only restaurant in Tempe to have a BYOB license for wine or beer.
I’d recommend this place to you. There’s my word of mouth.
