It’s A Grind

March 7th, 2009 · No Comments · Coffee

My first experience with It’s a Grind Coffee House was a positive one. It’s a Grind (www.itsagrind.com) is a franchised coffee house started out in Long Beach, CA. The location I checked out today is in Gilbert, AZ, on Baseline between Stapley and Mesa Dr.

I tried an espresso shot (as has been my habit lately), which went down smoothly. Their coffee supplier is Dilano’s (www.dilanos.com) which, according to It’s a Grind’s website, has been their roaster from the start.

Nice patio.
Overall the place was immaculate. I noticed a “Blues” theme throughout the store.
According to the barista I chatted with, Chompie’s provides their bagels and their pastries come from a place in California. They donate leftover baked goods to a charitable organization.

I don’t know if every It’s a Grind sports a fireplace, but this one does:

They offer six different coffees at any given time. Someone helped themselves to the Winter Blend while I was chatting with the barista and i could smell the cinnamon aroma from a few feet away.

Something I’ve never seen before, a no-spill plug for a to-go cup:
