I know I’ve been posting a lot about McDonald’s McCafé lately, but, my wife has been craving McDonald’s iced vanilla lattes lately, so each time we make a McCafé run I try something else on the menu.
This time I tried the vanilla latte. In retrospect, I should have gotten it without the vanilla — I forgot what a biting, overly sweet aftertaste McDonald’s vanilla syrup has. My thought at the time was that I didn’t trust the quality of their regular latte making skills, thus I wanted something to cover up any potential funkiness.
I also detected a burnt or possibly chemical tinge during my first few sips. Once the taste buds became acclimated, however, I finished the rest of the latte without a hitch.
Foam quality: C-. I forgot to watch as they steamed the milk, but I’ll try to watch more closely next time.
