Joshua Tree Coffee Company: Humanity and Heritage

April 16th, 2009 · No Comments · Arizona

Thanks to Joshua Tree Coffee Co. I at least have a better idea of what a Joshua Tree is (since I was forced to look up “Joshua Tree”).

Joshua Tree Coffee Co. prides itself in heritage above all. The company is housed in one of the oldest buildings in Lake Mead City, AZ. Also, they don’t bother using automated coffee roasting in any capacity — they use the Ambex 15 Kilo, which required human intervention at every step of the roasting process.

This means that any cup of joe you get from Joshua Tree is decidedly human-made. They are the farthest thing from a cold, mechanical corporation. I get the feeling this is the kind of roaster who will tell you what’s good coffee and what’s “crrrrraaaap” (Mike Myers reference).
