If you have purchased a Kitchen Gourmet or Signature Gourmet coffee maker within the last few years (especially from Walgreens), you should probably unplug it for now and visit their web site to see if it’s one of the models that has recently been recalled. Apparently they are recalling about 500,000 of these programmable coffee makers for electrical failures, which can result in the coffee maker bursting into flame.

If you own one of the models listed in the aforementioned link, then call up Kitchen Gourmet (actually, Atico International) at (877) 546-4835 and request a refund (as per their site).
