The Scoop on Cold Stone Creamery’s Raspberry Truffle Mocha Latte

April 5th, 2009 · No Comments · Coffee

That’s right — what you see below is a Raspberry Truffle Mocha Latte from the Cold Stone Creamery. They fit all that into this little 16 ounce cup.

By the way, did you get that — “The Scoop?” It’s funny ’cause Cold Stone Creamery is an ice cream shop… Hah!

Seriously, though, this coffee-esque drink is so new that it was only the second time the barista/ice cream attendant I spoke to had ever made one.

In terms of calories, you could probably substitute a small Raspberry Truffle Mocha Latte for whatever used to be your biggest meal of the day. I watched as the barista/ice cream preparation specialist mix together cream, a premade coffee concoction, raspberry syrup and chocolate syrup. She poured this over ice and then applied whipped cream.

The latte had a similar creamy, high quality flavor as any of the ice cream that Cold Stone offers plus coffee, of course. According to the ice cream creation engineer, the pre-made coffee concoction contains real espresso.

Cold Stone is now offering the aforementioned Raspberry Truffle Mocha Latte as well as the Rich Mocha Latte, Milk Caramel Latte and the Vanilla Créme Latte for a special introductory price of $1.99.
