Someone gave me a cigar the other day with the recommendation that I pair it with a descent coffee. Certainly worth a try…
It was a lighter Nub cigar (Connecticut) and my coffee of choice was Christopher Bean’s Jamaican Blue Mountain, which is a versatile blend, good any time of the day.
You can tell right out of the package that Christopher Bean knows how to roast the right way, and it’s about as fresh as a retail, pre-ground coffee could possibly be.

I was surprised at what a fitting pair the coffee and cigar made. I’ve always been under the impression that some kind of alcohol is an ideal companion for a cigar, but it turns out that coffee is, in my humble opinion, even better.
The coffee complimented the flavor of the cigar and, at the same time, acted as a palette cleansing agent. From the luxurious aromas to the balanced flavors, this turned out to be a perfect match.
It is not always true that you can try two things you like at the same time (spaghetti and pancakes for example) — just because you enjoy the two things individually doesn’t mean that you will also like them simultaneously. But it just so happens that a decent cigar paired with a descent cup of coffee work together quite well.
I would highly recommend a Nub cigar and Christopher Bean’s Jamaica Blue Mountain for anyone looking for an enjoyable evening or date night.

I recently returned from NYC and I heard of a new coffee roaster called ‘Gorilla Coffee’. Based out of Brooklyn! Have you heard of it?
@Don, yeah i think i have heard of it, but then there are a lot of brands named after “Gorilla”
