Lavazza’s Coffee Image

June 22nd, 2009 · 1 Comment · Italy

Lavazza is a an major Italian coffee company whose roots date back to 1885, when Luigi Lavazza decided to have a go at the coffee biz.

Now amidst the bustling, highly competitive coffee world, Lavazza is experimenting with their image in an attempt to stand out from the coffee behemoths already dominating the industry.  Italian design (I’m thinking cloths) has always been on the world’s cutting edge, so why not use that?

As you can tell by the the Lavazza Style portion of their website, they have “interpreted” coffee in a variety of different ways, from a GQ look, to various attempts at being risque, to other images that are more bizarre (in my opinion).  In any case, they were reported on by City Pages recently and now I’m familiar with their name, so apparently their efforts at marketing their brand are working.

Judging by the numbers they report on their site, Lavazza is turning into a major contender in the coffee world… they would probably be a good investment if you’re got any extra cash to play the stock market.  One of these days I’ll have to actually try their coffee.

Lavazza’s Crema e Gusto (I have no idea what that means) is my absolute favourite coffee. I got a bunch for Christmas last year from my dad, and I recently discovered that my local produce store sells it at discounted prices, so it’s pretty much all I drink at home. Interesting that I’d never even seen an ad for it.
