An espresso pod is pre-packaged espresso ready to be loaded into a standard espresso maker to eliminate the hassle of having to grind the beans, pour them into the filter and tamp it yourself. They tend to come in cloth-like coffee filter packaging. They’re clean to use and clean to throw away after you’ve pulled your espresso shot.
Disadvantages include:
- This prepackaged, preground espresso as grinding espresso beans yourself for immediate use.
- They are more expensive long term than buying whole, decent quality espresso beans.
- They help you to avoid a task that isn’t very difficult to begin with.
